First use the slats to make a frame, you might want to ask someone to help. The framework should be about 100*35cm, but you can also use an excisting framework to start.

Step 1
Cut the inner tires twice in length as to get to the same pieces.

Step 2
First cover the four corners of the framework with pieces tire.
Tip: use the inside, it will give a nice ironed look.

Step 3 and 4
Then cover whole of the frame with tires, first in length and secondly alongside. Put pieces of tire on the side and attach them with staples.

Step 5
Cut strips of tire somewhat longer than the frame

Step 6
Weave the pieces through the tires on the framework (see on the picture) and attach them on the back with staples.

Step 7
Also attach the mesh to the frame using staples.

You can decorate the framework the way you want it. Put some eggs in it, a nestling, branches, flowers of other handmade decorations.

Hint

  • You can use different kinds of mesh in the framework. In the example, meshes of 5cm are used, but smaller or larger even so is not a problem..
