Blowing out, holding and putting up

eimeer1 Decorating eggs is a nice passing of time around Easter.
You can use boiled eggs and eat them, or blow the eggs out first so you can enjoy your art way longer. They are also lighter when they are emptied, so easier to handle.

Blowing out
Use a raw egg, that you pierce on both sides with a needle (not too small and one hole bigger than the other. Blow above the shell through the small hole so the content of the egg will end up through the other hole in the bowl. Then you wash the eggs by blowing water through both holes. Let them dry well so you won’t have any problems with water coming out when decorating.

Handle the egg
Holding the egg while decorating can be pretty difficult. You can put it in an egg cup, but also use a small stick though both holes. A piece of clay will prevent the egg from going off again. Now take your time and decorate!

eimeer2 Putting up the egg

This can be done in two different ways:
1: Lead the ribbon through both holes and make a nice bow on which the egg will rest is weight.
2: Or get a thread through both holes. Knot a match to the tread and pull the tread through the egg, pushing the match in. Inside the egg, the match will go straight and keeps that way. Note you have to push the match through the big hole!
